HouseCall attends the Health Literacy Collaborative Summit!
HouseCall VR recently attended and exhibited at the Health Literacy Collaborative Summit, an event that brings together researchers, clinicians, educators, and advocates focused on patient understanding. Sessions covered plain language, trust, access, behavior change, AI, and the consequences of patients leaving a clinical visit without understanding what they were told.
At the summit's poster session, held at the historic Stockyards, HouseCall VR presented early findings from an ongoing diabetes medication education study at the University of Georgia. The study uses HouseCall VR modules to deliver patient education to uninsured populations.
After completing the VR modules, participants reported improvements in:
• Motivation to take medications appropriately
• Understanding of medication information
• Perceived relevance of the education
• Preference for VR as an education format after experiencing it
The study is ongoing and data collection continues.
HouseCall VR looks forward to sharing further findings as the research develops.
